    • Establish a literacy program serving destitute women and children
    • Provide funding which would allow current SMH doctors to pursue post-graduate level studies, thereby providing SMH with much needed specialists
  • SPORTS
Youth is power - power to propel the society toward a better tomorrow. It is very important that this portion of the population remain healthy, both mentally and physically. The youth of Nepal have been overwhelmingly influenced by western culture and technology. In this context, it is important that they maintain their creativity and vitality and do not indulge themselves in unproductive jobs. Sports are a time-tested, beneficial activity for the youth to be involved in.

SMF is planning to promote sports activities in various educational institutions and clubs. SMF is also in the process of encouraging volunteers from among the local youth and adults of the community. Among other things, volunteers would gain valuable experience, would gain skills, and would feel a sense of pride and self-worth. Volunteers are welcome to help with existing programs, and to contribute their own ideas.
  • ART AND CULTURE
The renowned art and culture of Bhaktapur form a large part of the identity of Nepal. The preservation of Nepalese identity means the preservation of culture and ancient monuments and architecture. Due to the penetration of a materialistic culture in our society, marvelous craft works and unique heritage sites are either disappearing or are being defaced daily. Our goal is to preserve, restore and maintain these great works of art and architecture for the benefit of both visitors, and our own future generations. We will accomplish this by:
    • Conducting programs to support and respect those involved in the field of Nepalese art, culture and literature
    • Supporting publications concerning Nepalese art, culture and literature
    • Supporting the establishment of libraries with a view to conserving Nepalese art, culture and literature
