Since its
establishment, the Siddhi Memorial Foundation has gained overwhelming
popularity as a supplier of much needed first aid facilities and primary
care to the community. As a non-governmental, non-profit, charitable organization,
it has won the confidence of its concerned supporters from both the national
and foreign lands. The hospital has grown with the moral and monetary
support of its donors, to a complex now consisting of three multi-story
buildings, on approximately 6500 square meters of farming land, in Bhimsensthan,
ward no.7- Bhaktapur.
Since
1993, SMH has been committed to providing quality, accessible healthcare
services, and has seen continuous improvements in the care provided to
both women and children. The hospital continues to cater its services
towards women and children with lower socio-economic status, and provides
free essential medicine.
The
Medical Physicians have more than 25,000 consultations per year in the
Outpatient Clinics. The majority of illnesses include pneumonia,
diarrhoea, reactive airway diseases, malnutrition, skin problems and
other respiratory problems.
The
Hospital has recently added a diagnostic centre, a pharmacy and a cafeteria,
and is still undergoing further development. It is working to implement
the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) protocol, which
is outlined by the World Health Organization. The hospital doctors do
not simply diagnose patients; they also take the time to explain the illnesses
